My passion for the built environment has always driven me to explore how spaces shape our daily experiences.
The brief for this Park City home was to create a peaceful sanctuary for a very active, hard-working family. The spaces needed to be highly functional—able to accommodate large family gatherings and casual dinners with friends, as well as more intimate moments together.
The program included a private office with ample natural light and strong acoustic performance to support working from home, a home gym, a dedicated study area, and a relaxing primary suite for rest and rejuvenation.
While all of these spaces were desirable, our focus was on the inherent qualities of each environment. We prioritized acoustic performance, incorporating surface treatments, layered textiles, rugs, and high-performance insulation to minimize sound transfer and enhance comfort.
Lighting was another key consideration—we ensured flexibility to highlight art and increase general illumination as needed, enhancing the mood and function of each space. We also played with lighting creatively: in the stairwell, a whimsical, star-like pattern was introduced to bring a sense of wonder and movement, while in the kitchen, we designed a custom pendant that adds elegance and anchors the space.
Two additional spaces—the main-level powder room and the cinema—introduce a sense of surprise and discovery, offering a darker, moodier atmosphere that contrasts with the rest of the home in an intentional and immersive way.
This home is a balance of beauty and function—designed to support the rhythm of daily life while offering moments of quiet, creativity, and connection.
